SEC EDGAR

Every company's SEC record gives its fiscal year end and the period end date of every 10-Q, 10-K and 20-F, which is where the fiscal calendars come from. Every 8-K with Item 2.02 (Results of Operations) is an earnings release: its date and time come from the SEC's acceptance stamp, converted to New York time. Before 9:30 am is before the open, from 4:00 pm is after the close.

Nasdaq's earnings calendar

Expected dates for the coming weeks come from Nasdaq's public earnings calendar (data from Zacks). They are stored as Estimated until the company announces a date.

Company announcements

Each morning a model with web search (Gemini) looks for the company's own announcement of an upcoming date, for a handful of Estimated dates coming up soon. A find counts only if it is on the company's own site or a press-release wire, the date is within two weeks of the expected one, and the page mentions it. It is then shown as Confirmed with an Unverified badge until it is checked by hand. Anything that fails a check is thrown out and logged.

Projections

When nobody has a date for a coming quarter, the same quarter's report date a year earlier is moved forward 52 weeks, keeping the weekday. These are marked Projected and are only a guide.

Refresh schedule

Every morning at 05:30 UTC. On Sundays the refresh re-reads every company from EDGAR and sweeps thirteen weeks of Nasdaq's calendar.
